What is Holistic Development? A look inside the presentation for middle grade and high-school grade students at ACIC's Friday Maktab in March 2026.
Connecting with ACIC's Friday Maktab was a privilege. I want to thank Alham who helped me with the initial outreach to ACIC Friday Maktab.
It was a special privilege to be able to give a presentation on the topic of Holistic Education and share the ideas behind holistic development and learning, which encompasses learning at the spiritual, emotional, physical, mental and environmental levels. The concept of Holistic can be expanded as understanding expands to reflect the multi-dimensional aspects of the self.
The objective is to inspire students to think about their selves in a greater or more truly reflective way, not limited to their performances and application of learning and knowledge within limited settings.
ACIC's Friday Maktab supports holistic learning, with subjects for students to study connected to their heritage, background and spiritual beliefs.
The presentation followed with an opportunity for students to ask any questions they may have and with more information about Aspire as a service for the community that they could share with their families.
It is an honour for us as educators to positively engage and be present within our communities and for others, especially for families, children and youth. I believe it is an honour and responsibility. I cherish the opportunities to be of some positive truth or information for youth to connect with understanding and good understanding of their selves.
I also look for opportunities of continued learning and development. If you may have any questions or feedback, please feel free to send me an email to info@aspirenn.ca. I also look for opportunities to share my work and facilitate presentations, though truly I believe in life, with any work we do, we give or teach very little versus what we learn or gain. It is the collective effort that brings us goodness. So let's do good work together, inshaAllah.
