I believe wisdom and knowledge are two different things. Our degrees show a side of our learning and understanding, but what I believe truly enables us in our understanding and ability to serve is our connection with service and understanding of what that means. In 2016, two philosophies inspired and helped me in my own understanding and learning, reflecting the concepts of personal development and purpose. These philosophies combine poetic, practical, spiritual and material concepts, reflecting my passions and work now in Holistic Education Services, alhamdulillah.

Academic foundations and degrees
My academic foundation blends pedagogy, mental health, and inclusive learning. I hold a Master of Education in Advanced Teaching from the University of the People (2023), reflecting a commitment to accessible and forward-thinking education. Prior to this, I completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Health Policy at the University of Toronto (2016). My educational pursuits also include specialized education coursework at the University of British Columbia (2016) and language immersion studies at Collège La Cité in Ottawa (2013).

Hands-on experience and community service
Practical, compassionate engagement has enriched my professional journey across a wide variety of developmental settings. Some of these experiences include my work as a Youth Settlement Worker with the Afghan Women's Organization (2021–2022), where I supported newcomer youth through community integration and personal growth. Earlier roles as a Camp Counsellor/Assistant Lifeguard at Camp Taha (2011-2012), Primary Instructor at Kumon (2014–2016) and in active wellness with Sport Chek (2016–2017) were special opportunies in environments that nurtured, laid learning steps or reflected my interests and passions in holistic health, fitness or health/wellbeing . In University I had the privilege of founding and working in a not-for-profit organization alongside passionate team members, Aspire Youth (2012-2017), which was focused on youth development. We published articles, hosted discussions and for some time, a weekly radio show program discussing learning and events. I also had the opportunity of being a part of the Psychology & Neuroscience Departmental Students' Association and the campus Mental Wellness Peer Program with the UTSC Health & Wellness Centre (2015).

A holistic, faith-inspired philosophy
The whole rounded, honest bottom-up learning that I had has given me deep insight and experience. However my greatest asset is my faith, that inspires me, and even the little that I can learn goes far in assisting me in my life and my work. For example, my faith teaches me to be positive, and to think positively, such as having a "Growth Mindset"; my faith also teaches me love for all people: if people are not my brothers and sisters in faith, they are still surely my equals in humanity. Life is a beautiful learning journey, and our time on this Earth is very limited. I just want to do the best that I can while I am here, and am grateful for the beauty we have in our lives. It is better we name these beauties, than to be afraid, it is better to appreciate, than to forget or hide.
